My friend Monica just e-mailed me some pictures from back in the day. And she would probably kill me if she knew I was going to post them anywhere on the internet.
I do not like Peeps. Which is surprising, because daily I have such strong sugar cravings that I could drink it straight out of a canister if I was truly desperate. But, I will NOT let a Peep set foot in my mouth. The Cubby, on the other hand, loves Peeps. When I moved in with him, I swear, he had a package of Peeps that had been in his cupboard since the Easter of 2003. They were rock hard, like if I threw them just right at someone's face they would definitely lose their eyeball. And, yet, he refused to throw them away and he managed to eat every single one of them. And, he enjoyed it.
...Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam, Toby, Angela, Oscar, Stanley and all the other employees of Dunder Mifflin for filling our souls with such happiness and laughter. It doesn't do enough justice to say that the Cubby and I are HUGE fans of The Office. At the end of a grueling 12 hour workday we each take our designated spot on couch, bite lower lips, and pump our fists into the air to the beat of the theme song. Like some extraordinary reflex we do this every single time. We have earnestly talked about dropping everything to move to Scranton, Pennsylvania, to get jobs at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company with our friends. Yes, they are our friends.
My cousin Kelly flew in on Valentine's for a weekend visit. She is fifteen years old. (I have to write this down for myself because to me she stopped getting older at age nine.) She sat between Tim and I as we all ate Zeke's takeout Bar-B-Q in our candlelit living room. With smokey mesquite sauce dripping off our fingers and the notes of a classical guitar wafting in the background (a random cd Tim got for free at work) Kelly was able to withhold gagging while Tim and I starred deeply and lovingly into one another's eyes.
I actually saw this on another blog, but I HAD to put it up here because it is so CUTE/FUNNY! I always thought Shannon had an over-sized head as a baby, but this little baby's head far exceeds the magnitude of her head. And, Aunt Vicki, I know your dog is named Charlie but I might have to steal it for my baby. What kid wouldn't be thrilled to be named the same as a Dalmation?
Last night we went out for our friend Wes' birthday. He decided that there is no better way to celebrate turning mid to late twenties then by getting a group of people together to play laser tag. Since we couldn't take a camera in there with us, this picture pretty much sums up what a blast we had. (No pun intended!)
My Red Team came in last place. I ranked 34 out of 43. I need to hone my laser tag skills.
This is what I imagine Friday nights at Shannon's house to be like.
