The Oscars are like my Super Bowl. I am picking my faves for this evening. For every one I get right Tim will buy me a kitten and/or a french bulldog.
My cousin Kelly flew in on Valentine's for a weekend visit. She is fifteen years old. (I have to write this down for myself because to me she stopped getting older at age nine.) She sat between Tim and I as we all ate Zeke's takeout Bar-B-Q in our candlelit living room. With smokey mesquite sauce dripping off our fingers and the notes of a classical guitar wafting in the background (a random cd Tim got for free at work) Kelly was able to withhold gagging while Tim and I starred deeply and lovingly into one another's eyes.
We had more fun around the corner not too long after Austria...Dan and Jane came for their first visit to L.A. to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. One of the first things Jane said she wanted to do while visiting was spot a celebrity. Now, as you all know, I have many celebrity friends out here but none of them were available to chill with me and my posse this weekend. So we'd have to see one the old fashioned way- stalking.
Our first stop for breakfast was the 101 Coffee Shop. Anytime someone comes from out of town it's a great excuse for Tim and I to go to the 101. We take everyone there. That and the creme puff pastry place on Hollywood and Highland. The 101 was featured on the movie Swingers, and Jane and Dan just happened to love Swingers when they were in high school. I love the coffee and Tim loves the milkshakes. I kept reminding Jane to keep her eyes peeled, we might "bump" into a celebrity at any moment. Sometimes they pop out from behind mailboxes or jump out from bushes. They are tricky little buggers and you have to constantly be on your toes!
So these kids were excited it was 10 degrees warmer in Los Angeles then in Oakland so the next stop was Venice Beach for a little photo session and fun in the sun. Jane swears she spotted Sally Struthers driving by in her car and I spotted someone way across the beach walking their little French Bulldog. I sprinted as fast as I could to get a picture of him, but I just didn't make it in time...au revoir my little Frenchie!
Well, I have let Shannon know that I am adopting her as my sugar momma and that she needs to buy me my pricey French Bulldog for Christmas. (I know she will pull through!!!)
And, I decided that Pierre Louis XIV will need a playmate so I am putting this on my Christmas Wish List. Now this guy far exceeds the price tag on all the other animals I have asked for in the past, but I assure you all that it will be well worth it. He's a great package and worth every little penny!!!
Let's just keep those fingers crossed that he doesn't end up eating little Pierre!

Not too long ago I recieved an e-mail from one of the girls I used to watch in the Netherlands. I was overjoyed to hear from her considering it has been a little over three years since I have seen any of them. Three years since I have walked along the canals of Amsterdam, ran through a field of tulips (o.k. I never actually ran through a field of tulips but it would have been nice!), taken my lessons in Utrecht, shoved my face with Stroop Kookjes, or have even attempted to mutter a word of dutch!
Ah, Holland, ik miss jou! (Sadly, my knowledge of the dutch language has taken an extreme turn for the worse.)
And, to always remember my time in the Netherlands I will start to save up my money for this...
Of course, I need something to put in the basket so I will save alot more money and get this...
Check this video out...I want them both sooooo bad!!!
p.s. I cried while watching this, maybe a little too much! :)
