Living in SoCal is like living in year-long summer

and this weekend we could be reaching triple digits...

(With the smokey air from those pesky wildfires

we'll be keeping the windows shut and blasting our beloved AC.)

  Then for a tour of our neighborhood:

  

  I was concerned about Incredible Hulk in the extreme heat.  The whole time I kept thinking about him dying of heat stroke in his huge bulky costume.  I mentioned this to him and in reply he asked me if I had seen his movie.

  Ummm...

  Wait.

  Of course!

  This dude was in a great documentary the Cubby and I watched almost a year ago, Confessions of a Superhero.  It's about the people who dress up in costumes on Hollywood & Highland and try to make a living off of it while pursuing other dreams in Hollywood.  It ain't an easy life...  

  But, everyone wants to be a superhero in this town.

  Remember thinking you were so cool when you were thirteen and now you see pictures and you're like, What the hell was my mother thinking letting me out of the house like THAT!  

  I actually get a big kick out of looking at pictures of myself during that phase in my life. I laugh so hard that if I was drinking milk there is no doubt in my mind it would come squirting out of my nose.  

  Once a dork always a dork!

He introduced me to Old Crow Medicine Show

and we played this song in the car a million times.

Through many a ghost town

It's our song.

Another little ditty that was listened to over and over again:

The Saturday before last I dragged some people downtown.
Including an old friend/teacher
(visiting from Germany)
who introduced us to Atlas Shrugged
and directed us in many a play
back in our high school days.

We sat in a parking garage
in 95 degree heat
on bleachers
our butt cheeks were numb
after 3.5 hours.

Nukala said he wanted some good American food-
Hamburgers.
We took him to the Wurstkuche
instead.
(Like he doesn't get enough Bratwurst back home.)

Their menu included:
(exotic sausages)
Buffalo, Beef, & Pork and Chipotle Peppers
Duck & Bacon with Jalepeno Peppers
Rabbit, Veal & Pork Seasoned with White Wine
Alligator & Pork
Rattlesnake & Rabbit

WURST OVERLOAD.
